Earn while you Learn
Our Earn and Study Programme is an innovative initiative designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience in the food service industry, while pursuing professional training. It offers participants the unique opportunity to work and earn in a dynamic food service environment, while acquiring specialized skills as either a Breakfast Cook or a Range Cook. With a blend of practical experience and structured learning, participants are prepared for rewarding careers in the culinary field.
Specialisations:
- Breakfast Cook: Learn the art of crafting nutritious and appealing morning meals, including egg-based dishes, breakfast meats, healthy options and beverages. This specialization focuses on speed, precision, and creating balanced meals that set the tone for the day.
- Range Cook: Develop expertise in preparing a variety of dishes, from appetizers to main courses, using a wide range of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Gain skills in applying various cooking methods to create flavourful meals, timing, presentation, and working efficiently in a high-pressure kitchen environment.

Who Should Apply:
This programme is ideal for individuals who:
- Seek to launch or advance their career in the food service industry.
- Have a passion for cooking, baking or customer service.
- Are looking to balance earning an income with gaining valuable skills and qualifications.
- Are able to commit to working an 8-hour shift for five (5) days per week.
Duration:
Six (6) months, with flexible schedules to accommodate both learning and earning components.
Cost
$35,000, payable upon acceptance to the programme. Assessment Fee for NCTVET/HEART certification is not included.
Requirements for Registration
Applicants for our Earn and Study Programme must be 18 years or older and must be able to work 40 hours per week. Interested applicants should complete our online Student Application Form and email the following documents to admin@cijchef.com:
- Copy of photo ID
- Copy of TRN
- Proof of payment of registration fee of $2,500
- Current resume
- Completed Recommendation Form from past/current school or employer
- Completed Character Reference Form
- Copy of valid food handler’s permit or proof of payment of permit fee, with scheduled test date.
Once the above documents have been received, our admin team will reach out to shortlisted applicants to schedule interviews.
